Well we just got a puppy yesterday. A shih tzu puppy. Anyway we were thinking about getting another puppy in May( Yorkshire Terrier) to keep this puppy company. The shih tzu is enrolled in classes right now and I was wondering when the Yorkie comes, will the Yorkie learn from the shih tzu (like where to potty) or will the shih tzu regress in training?

I cannot be home all day like I would like to be… I have a 3 mo old shih tzu puppy and I am having a hard time figuring out how I want to potty train. Do I use the potty pads that I bought? Do I try and make him go outside? I would love for him to stop peeing all over his soft toys and every room in the house. But honestly, I am not home enough to make sure he pees every hour or so outside. I dont want to make him hold it until I get home, cause I am afraid that is cruel or that he wont be able to since he is still a baby. I guess I want to eliminate him going over someone elses house and peeing cause this is how he was trained at home. What do I do? He has his own room, and does well by himself, its just the peeing all on the carpet that is annoying. Its like he pees INCHES from the potty pad on purpose!

what are the good places I can go to get my puppy trained? (I know petsmart…what are other options?)
Also how much does the basic training cost? How much would you willing to pay for a class?
My puppy used to be very calm and liked to cuddle. But now he is out of control. He can be sleeping on my lap one minute then running around the house as if he is being chased by an invisuable things the next minute. He doesn’t respond to my callings anymore and if i try to hold him he runs the other way. That makes me so sad. I tried to train him myself but I don’t have much time nor energy. He socializes daily and goes out to a walk 2-3 times a day. He is 3 months old shih tzu and he’s getting neutered in 2-3 months.
How to train my dog to pee on puppy mat?
Posted by: | CommentsHi, we live in an apartment, we walk our shih tzu at 9, 1 and 6 but, she’s only month old and we have got her some puppy training mats seen as we’re out but she won’t pee on them how do we train her!
Puppy potty training issues, help!?
Posted by: | CommentsSo my sister just sent me her little shih tzu puppy for a few months so that I can help potty train it for her. (she shouldn’t have a puppy in the first place if she doesn’t have time to potty train it, I know.) The puppy is about 4 and a half months and she has no idea that she is supposed to go to the bathroom outside. I have been taking her outside about every hour in hopes that she will use the bathroom outside so I can positively reinforce her with treats and praise, but she just won’t use the bathroom outside, she doesn’t even want to go on the grass. I can’t start crate training her yet because she just uses the bathroom in her crate. (She lived in a pet store until she was 4 months so she is used to just peeing and pooping where she lives.) I sat outside with her for about an hour this morning and she just doesn’t get it, about a minute after bringing her inside she peed on the floor. how do I get her to potty outside?
